The Holy Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church of America
Words from Mission Director Pakistan, Servant of God Nadeem Samuel
Reviving Faith in Urdu: The Ministry of Servant of God Nadeem Samuel in Pakistan
In the heart of Pakistan, where the ancient rhythms of faith meet the vibrant pulse of a modern nation, a quiet but profound revival is underway. At its center stands Servant of God Nadeem Samuel, a humble priest and masterful translator. My ministry bridges continents, languages, and centuries of Christian tradition.
As the representative of The Holy Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church of America in Pakistan, I have devoted my life to making Orthodox Christian worship accessible, beautiful, and theologically sound for Urdu-speaking believers. My work is not merely linguistic—it is pastoral, poetic, and deeply spiritual.
A Ministry Rooted in Reverence
My calling is marked by a profound sense of responsibility to my community. I have translated baptismal rites, Eucharistic prayers, and liturgical hymns with exceptional care, ensuring that each word carries the weight of tradition and the warmth of pastoral love.
My translations are not mechanical renderings—they are living texts. Each phrase is chosen to preserve theological depth while resonating in the heart language of my people. Whether preparing resources for infant baptism or guiding worship leaders through ceremonial practice, my work reflects both scholarship and compassion.
Building a Bridge Across Cultures
The Orthodox Church in Pakistan is still young, but under my leadership, it is growing in strength and clarity. My ministry is a bridge—uniting East and West, ancient and modern, English and Urdu. Through my efforts, believers who once felt distant from the richness of Orthodox worship now find themselves drawn into its beauty.
My collaboration with international partners, including the Braman Foundation, opens new possibilities for exposure, support, and growth. Through platforms like Revive, I hope to share not only the story of my ministry but also the faces and voices of the faithful who walk with me.
An Invitation to Revival
This bi-monthly feature is more than a profile—it is an invitation. Readers who feel moved by the mission of the Church in Pakistan are warmly encouraged to contribute, pray, and connect. Whether through financial support, theological dialogue, or simply sharing the story, every gesture helps nurture a community rooted in Christ and blooming in Urdu.
My ministry is a testament to what happens when tradition meets translation, and when faith is spoken in the language of the heart.
My vocation is not only to serve, but also to translate, to teach, and to build. As the Steward of The Holy Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church of America in Pakistan, I am lighting a lamp - one that burns with the beauty of tradition and the warmth of pastoral care.
We are also working on the Sunday School ministry to promote our Orthodox catechism among children so that in the future, they become good Orthodox Christians in Pakistan.
We also need financial and moral support for the first Pakistani Orthodox Church (Western Rite) parish to help our people assist in far-off areas in my region. And to run parish activities to serve our people here for all their religious activities and needs.
We will be thankful to you for all your kind help for our newly established Orthodox (Western Rite) parish in Sargodha, Pakistan.
Keep our first Mission of the Holy Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church of America in Pakistan.
Your generosity makes the Braman Foundation of Charities possible. Thank you.
